California coastal campsites… Part 1: Crescent City!

Temporarily giving up on our house hunt in Oregon, we hitched up the Wanderlust Retro and headed back toward our cabin on the Russian River, stopping at as many of our favorite Northern California camping spots, and some new ones, as we could wedge into three hundred or so miles of coast.

By this point in our journey, struggling with travel burnout and the disappointment of not being able to buy a place in Oregon, I just wanted to get home; but our house wasn’t available because we’d rented it out to help defray costs.

Renting your house out while you travel is an excellent option for those considering a long cross-country trip, but it has its downsides–like you have to deal with renters while traveling, AND you can’t go home when you want to!
