I’m not sure it’s the lifestyle I’d want, but we have enjoyed watching Traveling Robert on uTube. We found him during Covid when we were stuck at home and we armchair traveled with he and his wife Illy. He’s been all over the USA and went clear to the top of Alaska last summer. Fun to watch! I love all these short stories and can’t wait for the book!!
We are now unable to travel, but when we did we found 6-8 weeks at a time was enough. We took some very long trips with our trailer, from South Texas to the extreme NorthWest US; South Texas to Nova Scotia, we took many trips as we had one son in Denver for a few years and then in Ventura for a few more years. The other one with a a 45 ft wooden Chris Craft in the Straits of Juan de Fuca and two trips on it into Canadian waters and marine campgrounds. Very interesting places. Then to the North East to visit an aunt in upstate New York, always taking time to few the sites along the way. A reunion of people with out same last name in Michigan when I took the time to do genealogy cemetery searches, that happened in New York, too. There I found a stone house museum built and lived in by an ancestor. All the while back and forth to other shorter trips to Colorado and just around Texas. which is a very big state with much to see.
I see I got off topic, hard not to talk about all the trips. But never, ever thought of full timing although we did have friends, a couple, who did the full time campground host bit for about ten years, then retired to their real home in Florida.
Loved reading this! have always wanted to live in a van and travel around the U.S. Staying in each place for however I wanted before moving on to the next place.
Everywhere we went I thought about how much fun it would be to spend all four seasons there. That would really be the only way to get a correct feel of the places. Not happening, though.
It sounds just like my dream as a teenager. Probably why I drove a 18 wheeler semi for over a year and loved it! Since I am disabled now and on oxygen, I can't do it.
I have always thought about living in a RV/Camper. However, since I moved to the lake I grew up on, I hate to leave for very long even in the winter. I'm living my childhood dream of living on the lake.
I too believe there are so many more good people in the world. Opening up to them brings everyday joy.
That is my personal experience, over and over!

Thank you for your steadfast support, Jeanie!

We discovered full timing was NOT for us on this trip...but that's a spoiler for later down the road!

It's really worth making space if your life to have that experience. I guarantee it will surprise you!

I love reading these!
Many mahalos for chiming in, Susan!@
I love and envy your opportunity to meet new people and more importantly to engage with them!
I'm not actually that social...I like "deep" encounters. But so far we've had several that have been amazing.
There are some people you meet in life that gives a feeling of a deep connection, even though it is actually a fleeting one. Soul twins I guess.
Yes! ALWAYS wish for more, but glad I connected when I did...

I'm so glad you're armchair traveling with me!
