Lassen Volcanic National Park
Some facts to orient you:
· Lassen is one of the relatively small national parks, at only 166 square miles.
· Lassen’s main features are the volcanoes and volcanic activity centered around them. These include a plug dome volcano, shield volcano, and composite volcano. There are four massive volcanoes within the Park.
· Numerous small lakes and streams and beautiful hiking trails through forests are the park’s main attractions for visitor activities, though there are some geologic volcanic features to see.
· The Park’s last eruption occurred in 1916; though considered dormant, the volcanoes are predicted to erupt again at some point.
