Coastal Oregon’s sweetest towns

A round up of some of our favorites!

The whole strip of coast heading south from the top of Oregon to San Francisco on US 101, is some of the prettiest road tripping in the United States.

Take a couple of weeks to explore all the terrific sights to see and campgrounds to experience along the route. Explore it in depth— this coastline deserves it!

We began our house hunting with the coast of Oregon, because that area met all of the criteria we’d clarified that we wanted as we wound up our road trip adventure:

• Low fire danger

• Lower overhead/cost of living than Bay Area or Hawaii

• Lots of nature and good fishing

Rumor had it that Oregon residents weren’t very nice to newcomers and real estate shoppers from other states; we’d heard there was resentment about the “invasion” from elsewhere with people moving into their area.
