We got an early start from a forgettable stay at an RV resort on Potholes Lake after leaving Mt. Rainier (hot, windy, muddy, and crowded, in case you wondered) and headed for Spokane, Washington.
There was a good reason for this less than colorful interlude in our series of adventures: I planned a quick visit back to the Bay Area to see our daughter and grandbaby—I was in need of some “Grammie time,” and Mike wanted solitude for hardcore fishing in nearby Idaho.
I’d found a pet sitter via the Internet for Koa, and, following Lady Google’s directions, we headed for Cousin Wanda’s Pet Care in Spokane, WA. I’d talked to Cousin Wanda on the phone a couple of times, and she was willing to have Koa even though we were just passing through. I’d leave Koa there for a few days while I flew to San Francisco.
